Our Mission

  • To provide an officially recognized ongoing organization for citizens in this neighborhood to review and comment on neighborhood oriented matters.

  • To effectively facilitate meaningful communication among citizens, elected officials, city government, schools, etc.

  • To actively promote neighborliness and create a sense of community in this neighborhood.

  • To promote the welfare of the community.

  • To raise the standards of the community.

  • To address crime prevention and safety concerns of the neighborhood.

  • To promote the upkeep of properties in the neighborhood.

  • To promote beautification of the neighborhood.

  • To evaluate and, when appropriate, promote development and redevelopment in the neighborhood to ensure that it is consistent with an integrated urban environment where all economic and social classes are comfortable living.

Neighborhood Boundaries

Our neighborhood extends north to south from the Septima Clark Parkway to Morris Street and Bee Street and east to west from King Street to Lockwood Drive.

Membership in our Organization

Membership is available to business owners and residents of the neighborhood, including renters and property owners within the designated area outlined above. All members must be eighteen (18) years or older. Businesses, Organizations, and Churches located within the neighborhood are also encouraged to become involved in CENA. Voting rights are extended to (1) property owner residents (2) business owners (one vote per business), (3) non-resident property owners and (4) residential lessees / renters (one vote per unit). Annual, voluntary dues of $15 per member area appreciated, but not required. Interested in joining? Click here to sign up!
